On their website, you'll find age-appropriate teacher guides (for PreK-2 and Grades 3-5), opportunities for virtual field trips, video tours and slideshows, and interactive information on the Mayflower voyage, daily life in the New World, and the first feast. You can even sign up to receive historical email messages from Pilgrim and Wampanoag children living in the New World. Global Wrap highlights key world events in multiples segments that are developed for grades 6-12. Teachers in upper elementary grades could preview segments or transcripts and could pick and choose segments from either video to share with students. Go to My DE Services and scroll down to the Global News block on the right side of the page to access weekly content. Get your grade-specific content by clicking on the drop-down arrow in the upper right corner of the Global News window.

The missions include Operation Conservation, Bring Back the Wild, Spring Green-Up Challenge, Water Taste Challenge, Battery Blitz Mission, For the Birds Mission, and Homemade Holiday Mission. After they accept a mission, students receive a mission brief, checklists, and related materials to successfully complete the challenge. Completed missions earn an online reward of a challenge badge, which is posted on the students' personal achievement walls. There are also videos, games, and tons of information about animals that may be relevant to your curriculum. Check it out and share!
According to Brenda Doucette of EdTechTeacher, this is how it works... The original PDF remains in your Drive and a new, converted document is created. You can open your new document and rename, edit, annotate, share, etc. just as you can do with any other Google Doc, Slides or Sheets. This works best with PDF documents that are clear and mostly text-based. Tables, images and formatted text can be a bit of a challenge for Google Docs (images and tables tend to end up on one page and text on a separate page), but I am sure it’ll get even better and easier in the next update.
Richard Byrne, from Free Tech for Teachers, highlights how to create video and audio slideshows using YouTube. All steps are covered in the video below. This resource would be excellent for students to use to share basic research they have conducted.
This new, free educational app from the makers of Shadow Puppet allows students to easily create private learning journals. The journals can combine digital and physical work in one place and can be shared with parents. Real-time change notifications are sent to parents so they can see what their child has done at school.
